ClubMed Cherating

Club Med Cherating is supposed to be a pure luxury, full-inclusive resort best suited for couples and families. However, the place is very run down and need some upgrade and refurbishment to charge that kind of price (RM500++ per pax per night)

Room: Small, moldy smell, make sure you clean your bed every night before going to bed as you may have some surprises such as ants, sand...

Food: Mutiara-Food presentation & selection was mediocre and the quality could be so much better. Their seafood is not fresh so don's waste your calories for trying.  Rembulan Fine Dining was closed during our visit. Noodle snack is very pathetic so don't waste time.. Main bar server free flow of diluted drinks and cheap alcohol.

Activities:
  • Trapeze & Tree Top: My son have fun playing that, I'm too scared to try
  • Pool: Both my kids have fun daily splashing in the pool
  • Beach: Not very nice. I personally think Terengganu has so much nicer beach with finer white sand
  • Turtle Sanctuary: We missed the place as the Mini Club GO mistaken the opening day. We all walked all the way to the main gate to realize that the place is closed for the day. What a boo boo!!
  • Mini Club: Our 5yo thoroughly enjoy himself with the activities plan for him. We left with 2yo who refuse to leave mummy alone.
  • Archery: Was full when we went so never have chance to try
  • Kayaking/Sailing/Rock Climbing: We didn't try as our 2yo refuse to stay with my parents :(
  • Pool Games: Boring!!
  • GO show: Boring!!
  • Karaoke: The songs and facilities in VERY old. Don't waste time!
  • Sunrise: Can't really see that due to haze
Rating: 2 out of 5

Hotel Review:Nankai Fraser Residence (Osaka)

We happened to make this hotel as our base during our last Kansai trip. We truly enjoy this place to the max. It's so close to Namba station and the free breakfast serve at the Italy restaurant next to the hotel was good. There is also Ippudo Ramen opposite the hotel. We have a few meal there as DH love their ramen so much (they definitely taste so much nicer than the one in BSC mall). If you need McDonald, there is one right at the junction before you cross over to Namba Station.

What I like about this hotel:
  1. Location: It is close to everything. We travel with a 2.5yo that constantly want to rest so location is very important
  2. They have concierge that work 24x7. You can borrow umbrella, keep your luggage if your flight is late in the evening like ours.
  3. Room with almost everything you need. Japanese are so well thought that the washing machine came with a dryer and they have a Humifier cum air purifier in the room.
  4. Small Kitchenette: You can prepare food if you like but we eat out most of time as we love Japanese food so much and they are fresh!!!
