Hotel Review: Ecotel Bangkok

After several attempts booking via PYOtravel, at last we get our room booked and paid for. Here we come Ecotel Bangkok!

Overall I think this is a good choice of hotel. It is situated opposite Ramada & Bangkok Palace. So once you take a taxi from Don Mueng, just tell the taxi you want to go to Bangkok Palace or you may end up like us. Our taxi despite of the map provided by the hotel was not able to find Petchaburi Rd 35. If I have told him earlier that thsi hotel is opposite Bangkok Palace, I'm sure all of us do not have to go round and round in Pratunam area and having Bryan started crying in the taxi as he was too tired after the long trip.

Summary of the hotel:
  1. We pay RM600 for 2 rooms for 3 nights stay (without breakfast as you can get a lot food nearby)
  2. We get spacious room, toiletries and towels are provided, comfortable pillows and beds.
  3. Nearest 7-eleven is just 100m away :) Plenty of taxi and Tuk Tuk.
  4. Taxi ride to airport using express way is around THB 250
  5. Just beware of the tourists from India. They tend to make a lot of noise even as early as 3am :(
  6. It took us 15 min walk to Platinum Mall
  7. Strongly recommend to try the Pork Noodle and Beef Noodle along the road to Indra Square. The uncle has been selling for so many years and his beef noodles is so tasty :)
Last note, since there are 4 adults + 1 toddler, we travel around Bangkok via taxi most of the time. It's so convenient and trust me, Bangkok taxi is so affordable and spacious. I think the furthest taxi ride we took was to go to Asiatique RiverFront. This is another new place in Bangkok and a smaller version and more organized Chatuchak!
